Parnis GMT Men's Watch - Meets the Specs

The Swiss originally developed GMT watches for aviation to include “local” and Greenwich Mean Time. GMT watches were required to meet specifications originally set by the military. They evolved into fashionable watches and have become the second most popular mechanical watch design after the perpetual calendar.  Aside from use by pilots, people use GMT watches to track local time and GMT or time in two zones, such as New York and San Francisco.

Some GMT watches use a 12/24 hour dial with two hour hand one to Greenwich Mean Time. This model uses two dials to indicate different time zones and the required indicator for AM & PM (the purpose of the day-night calender at the 6 o'clock position).

This Parnis men's wristwatch with a Sea-Gull ST36 E4 movement. It's "parts-compatible" with the ETA Unitas 6497/98.

Parnis watches use 316L Marine Grade Stainless Steel, stamped and threaded with clear see-through backs. The dials are drop-in replacements for well known Swiss watches.

This Parnis model will hold its own with many Swiss GMT watches. It's a world-class, hand assembled timepiece made of the finest materials within a strict quality control environment.
